imagining
Indigenous Technologies
WHAT IS THE
iWOW INITIATIVE?
A place to imagine together, to plan together, to learn together, and to bring the past, present and future together.
The goal of the initiative is to create space where Indigenous thought-leaders, futurists, youth and elders can engage in meaningful conversations, relationship-building, and action-planning around the broader view of technology and its implementation in Indigenous communities and societies.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
iWoW is a gathering that seeks to cultivate the Indigenous imagination to find new and dynamic solutions for pressing issues around technology in Native and Indigenous communities. Our goal is to have thought-leaders, elders and youth, tribal officials, futurists, technologists and action-oriented individuals in attendance. Teams, groups and communities are most welcome as we seek to create positive momentum for ongoing strategies that can support Indigenous approaches to technology and its uses. We seek individuals and groups who wish to see the potential for Indigenous technologies throughout Turtle Island.
WHAT TO
EXPECT
iWoW is not your standard conference. Rather it is a place to think, converse, plan, and strategize; it is a gathering for building relationship and leveraging Indigenous brilliance to find solutions and unleash the imagination. You should expect conversations, engagement and action-planning. You should expect learning and wonder. You should expect the chance to simply think and imagine with other Indigenous folks and communities to create positive and systemic change.
